In October of 1996, the first annual Harvest of Hope was held in memory of Phyllis Plotnick's mother who died of breast cancer. The group planning the dance decided to give the proceeds to the Womyn's Energy bank to be disbursed among womyn needing mammograms and breast cancer treatments. The following year the group decided they would like to see a fund established for a wider variety of health needs and the Sonia Plotnick Health Fund was established.

Our purpose is:

To provide Financial grants to womyn in need of health care.
To promote the health of the Womyn's community.
To establish not-for-profit programs for the enhancement, well-being, tranquility and general welfare of the womyn's community, all relating to educational, health and social welfare programs for womyn.

We provide financial funding for health care needs.
